Sparhawk was nervous and bouncy inside. Outside, he was composed and masked, as usual, in his calm expression a he strode the halls of the Residence in Here. He knew there was a chapel, and generally where it was, but now he had to find it, and find out whether there was a priest there.

He smiled faintly as he thought of Elaine and their upcoming wedding. He wanted this done right, and well, and so he would have a wedding, and make her proud, and he felt his heart might burst on that day.

He finally did find the chapel, and peered into it, stepping inside slowly with reverence, his cloak back over his shoulder and his clothing, as always, a calm black.

His eyes searched the space as he turned to look at it all.

He's come at the right time.

An older man sits in the second row of pews in the small chapel, reading his Bible and meditating.

Sensing the presence of another, he lifts his head and smiles, getting to his feet.

"Welcome."

"Greetings, Father."

Sparhawk stepped in, and nodded to the man.

"I have a few questions and I was wondering if I might take some of your time."

"Of course! Of course! I have nothing but time Here. Are you in need of counsel?"

The man walks with a limping gait that doesn't seem to slow him down, and approaches the newcomer with a kind smile.

"I'm Father Gregory, at your service."

"Mostly in need of time, Father. I've a fiance here, and wanted to know if there was someone here who could perform a ceremony, and if so, what traditions they observed."

"I have the authority in my world, and by my God to officiate a marital union. I am what one might call a 'non-denominational' priest. I serve all manner of religious needs in Here, since there seems to be a sad lack of leaders of other faiths in residence.

"I believe there may also be a Justice of the Peace who could help you...he hails from Nebraska, around 1967, if memory serves. Of course, the captain of a ship also has the authority to oversee a marriage, as well."

"Tell me about the faith you serve, then."

Sparhawk watched the man, curious.

"And what kind of ceremony would you present for a couple of two different worlds, neither of your faith?"

"I can perform as formal or as casual a ceremony as you prefer. I don't know what your religious preferences are, but mainly there should be a witness or two and both parties should be willing. I am happy to read from the Bible, or the religous text of your choice, if you wish it. Vows are often exchanged, either written by the couple, or from a standard marriage ceremony from my own world and time.

"Generally such vows include promises of fidelity, honor, love and constancy for as long as you both live."

"We can write our own vows, I think, and a simple joining, before man and God is best."

He nodded.

"I prefer an edge of formality, but a simple ceremony."

"That, I can do. It could be held here in the chapel, if that suits you, or even outdoors. If I am not mistaken, the change of seasons is near at hand."

It seems winter is almost at an end.

"Did you have a specific time frame you would like?"

One eyebrow went up.

"Do you know when the seasons will change? Outside would be perfect, then."

He nodded.

"Even before that, if necessary. We both enjoy the outdoors."

He nodded once more.

"As soon as possible, I think. Say, a week?"

"A week would be fine, if you bride agrees. I would not be surprised if the weather changed by then, though I haven't been keep too accurate of an accounting of days."

He appears thoughtful for a moment.

"You might consider sending a note to the Manager about your upcoming nuptials. He has been known to provide a nice setting for such thing, with flowers and cake and all those sorts of trimmings that brides seem to enjoy. You may also inquire about a larger Suite, as I believe the third floor is reserved for residents that need more space."

"Good. I will be back within a day, to let you know, if that is all right?"

He nodded.

"I will do that. Thank you, Father."

"Of course. I am usually here, so that will be no problem. If you have any other needs, please don't hesitate to ask."
